NOTE: Descendant of Eutrope Hastang who was living c. 1126.Keats-Rohanasserts that Humfrid Hastang, a Domesday tenant, wasancestor of the Hastangs, DP, p. 275. Humfrid held Chebsey inStaffs, which has passed down to this Robert Hastang.Humfrid probably m. Lescelina and had these sons:Aitrop,Humphrey,Salomon the clerk.Aitrop is in DD, p. 1005, d. c. 1166, was m. to Matilda and hada son Aitrop II who d. 1205. The DD article also lists a Henryde Hastang and a Robert de Hastenc without statingtheirrelationship to Aitrop II.CP in Note in Vol VI, p. 340 merely says that this RobertHastang was the descendat of a Eutrope hastang who gave acharter c. 1126.
