Leo Zimmermann dreamed of a better life in the New World and thereforedecided to emigrate to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in Canada, where his brothers Edwin and Arnold already lived. The two brothers had left Germany and departed from Antwerp, Belgium, arriving in Quebec on 17 September 1911.
