Elizabeth Bare was the daughter of Michael G. Bare 1824 – 1894 and Regina Saul 1834 – 1914. Her siblings were: Martha Jane Bare 1852 – 1861; Eliza Ann Bare 1859 – 1861 Catherine E. Bare 1859 ��� 1861; Samuel S. Bare 1863 – 1865; Owen Harvey Bare 1865 – 1875; James Ervin Bare 1865 – 1937 and Luella Bare 1867 – 1909. Iowa, Select Marriages, 1809-1992 confirmed that Elizabeth Bare became the bride of Jacob L Lahmon on 20 Dec 1866 in Cedar Co., Iowa. From this union the following children were born: Sylvester Layman 1868 – 1940; Charles Lahmon 1870; William Layman 1872; Hanah Layman 1874; James "Jim" Leon Lahmon 1875 – 1950; Margarite Layman 1878 and Emily Layman 1880. By the 1880 census all of Rebecca's children had been born and 3 of them were in school. Jacob was a farmer in Cono, Iowa Co., Iowa.
