NORTH LOUP Maralyn Jorgensen, 77, of North Loup died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at the Valley County Hospital in Ord. Ms. Jorgensen was cremated. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Ord Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Christian Mattison will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Hillside Cemetery at North Loup. Memorials are suggested to the North Loup American Legion Auxiliary, North Loup Library or the North Loup First Responders. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Maralyn was born Jan. 20, 1927, at Burwell to Carroll and Isla (Hatfield) Hoppes. As a child she and her family spent time at Burwell until 1941 when they moved to North and then to Phoenix. Maralyn had attended school at Burwell, North Loup and graduated from Union High School in Phoenix. Maralyn married Kenneth Jorgensen Nov. 11, 1945, at Burwell. The couple settled on a farm in Sherman County where they farmed until 1976 when they moved into North Loup. From 1977 to 1989 Maralyn owned and operated the North Loup Café. Kenneth passed away Oct. 4, 2001. Maralyn continued to live in North Loup until her dearth. Maralyn was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. NORTH LOUP Maralyn Jorgensen, 77, of North Loup died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at the Valley County Hospital in Ord. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, crossword puzzles, baking and her grandchildren. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Karl and Sandy of North Loup, Monte and Terri of North Loup and Kristen of North Loup; three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Henry Rodriguez of Omaha, Katherine and Alan Bolich of Loup City, and Marcella and Steven Randell of Grand Island; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bethene Jones of Glendale, Ariz., Charlaine Brittsan of Jackson, Ore., and Cleo Ann Clien of San Manuel, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son, Kenneth; and an infant grandson, John Allen Gappa.
