Die Bruhmstraße im Langebrücker Villenviertel erinnert an die Försterfamilie Bruhm, die seit dem 17. Jahrhundert das Amt des Langebrücker Erbförsters inne hatte. Verliehen wurde dieses von Kurfürst Johann GeorgIII., nachdem der kursächsische Oberförster Anton Bruhm (+ 1692) seinen Landesherren in der Schlacht bei Wien vor türkischer Gefangenschaftbewahrt hatte. Enkelsohn Johann George Bruhm (1688-1755) ließ 1740 die Lindenallee an der Dresdner Straße anlegen. Zugleich war er Besitzerdes sogenannten Forstgutes an der heutigen Bruhmstraße. Auch seine Nachkommen waren noch bis 1913 als Revierförster in Langebrück tätig.
