Gf. v. Geldern u. Zütphen 1271-1320, Reichsfürst 1317, 1320 abgesetzt und von seinem Sohn Reinald II. zeitweilig gefangengehalten, auch 1288 bei der Schlacht bei Worringen gefangen, Hg. v. Limburg de iure uxoris 1280-1288, musste seine Ansprüche auf das Herzogtum Limburg-Maaß aber später aufgeben.
