Inhaber des väterlichen Hofes (ein Viertel des Unterhofs, heute Nr. 4), Inhaber des Mittelleimbachschen Zehnten lt. Revers vom 26.10.1635, 1584 Zeuge, klagt 1608 wegen Beleidigung seiner Frau gegen Curt Corells Knecht, erscheint 1685-92 im Forstregister, war der reichste Bauer in Leimbach, dessen Gut auf 2000 Gulden geschätzt wird. Nr 244 aus AL Pierson, der Märchenfrau Dorothea Viehmann geb. Pierson, der Gebrüder Grimm.
Die Familie Hooß aus Leimbach sowie ihre soziale und geschichtliche Entwicklung über 15 Generationen sind u.a. Gegenstand der Untersuchung von Arthur E. Imhof: Die verlorenen Welten. 1992 bzw. der engl. Übersetzung: Lost worlds: How our European ancestors coped with everyday life and why ..1996
