Notes for this person
At the same time, Perna never broke off ties with the family that remained in Italy. Perhaps returning to Lucca after the escape of 1542, he certainly hosted two of his nephews in Basel in 1562, sent to Switzerland to learn the profession of printing from their uncle. In fact, the ban from the city of Lucca came only very late, in 1580, following an official complaint from a relative of Perna.
