Lt. to. I, fol. 91 wurde er in Röhrabrunn, das zur Pfarre Stronsdorf gehörte, geboren und heiratete am 22. Mai 1703 tom. I fol. 380 Katharina Prinz.
Ob er der Sohn des Johann K. und Anna ist, ist nicht geprüft, es gibt noch den Leopold Kerschbaum, Wittib zu Röhrabrunn, der am 5. Oktober 1710 eine Wittib aus Niederleis, Ursula Göll, heiratete. Die Urkunden liegen alle in der Pfarre Stronsdorf, denn vor 1784 war Röhrabrunn eine Filialkirche von Stronsdorf.
Zur allgemeinen Überraschung ist er der Sohn des Georgs, der bei seiner Geburt immerhin schon 61 Jahre ist und im selben Jahr noch eine zweite Ehe einging.
