Bock was born on June 4, 1917 to John and Tillie Koch Bock in Bremer County, Iowa. He married Virginia A. Burrow on November 16, 1938 in The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He farmed in Bremer and Chickasaw Counties, worked on a domestic mink ranch, and then as a butter maker for Farmers Butter and Dairy in Fredericksburg, Iowa until his retirement. He moved to Albuquerque in 1993. He ws preceded in death by his parents and one sister. He is survived by four sisters, Emma Schumacher of Denver, Iowa, Mabel Tremaine and Esther Lenton of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Leila Taylor of Summer, Iowa and two brothers, Reinhold of Summer, Iowa and LaVern of Rock Falls, Illinois. He is also survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia, daughters, Betty Swanger and husband, Lee of Albuquerque, Donna Snow and husband, Don of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Sharon Corso and husband, Keith of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Janet Brock of Iowa City, Iowa, and one son, Garth of Albuquerque, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2001 at Christ Lutheran Church, 7701 Candelaria Rd. NE, with Rev. Greg Werdin.
