| 1 | Citation Text: Heinrich Jarfe is Found Lying Dead At His Home Heinrich Jarfe, aged 75 years, died suddenly at his home, corner of Elk and Shaurette streets, Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The cause of his dead was heart disease. He had been complaining for some time of faint spells, but his death was a shock and a surprise to his wife and neighbors. Mrs. Jarfe went into the garden, near the house, to work, and left him lying on the sofa. When she returned to the house, she found him lying in the same position in which he had laid down, but life hadleft the body some time before. The deceased was born in Hanover, Germany, October 8, 1835. He came to this country about 1870, at the time of the Franco-Prussian war. He found employment on the farm of his uncle in Minnesota, and remained there until 1884, when he married andmoved to this city. For the past 20 years or so he has been engaged in the milk trade, and in gardening. He is survived by his wife and one sister, Mrs. Henry Meyer, of Crown Point, Indiana. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon, with services at the house at 1:30 and at St. Paul's Lutheran church at 2 o'clock, Rev. B. O. Richter officiating. Interment will follow in Forest cemetery. |
