| Der ursprüngliche Besitzer hies Hinz, daher der Hofname. Der erste, nach dem Soltauer Pfarrzaunregister von 1657 nachweisbare Wirt war Jasper Cohrs der also um 1650 gelebt hat. Der Pfahl im Betreffenden Zaunfach hatte die ausgehauenen Buchstaben J. z. E., d.h. Jasper zu Ellingen,wie der Hinzbaer gewöhnlich genannt wurde.
