Roger Craig RIGGLE

Lieutenant Colonel Roger C. Riggle, US Air Force retired, passed away November 17th, 2007 at the age of 81 following a brief illness in Hampton, VA. He was born in Sandyville, Ohio on September 4, 1926 and joined the Air Force in 1949. Roger served in a variety of positions before retiring at Castle AFB in 1970. As a command pilot he amassed over 10,000 flight hours including over 800 combat hours.Following his retirement Roger was active in several community projects and volunteer organizations. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends. Recently he'd begun touring the country in his new motor-home.Roger was predeceased by his first wife, Billie and his brother Jess. He is survived by wife Doreen, and his three children; Robin and partner Bill Ledford, Robin's daughter Megan; Rebecca and husband Walt Ledford; Jess and his daughters Elise and Eleanor. Roger is also survived by his two brothers: Lewis and wife Alice; Richard and wife Sally.Also surviving are Doreen's children; Steve and Susan Guest their children Shaun and Stephanie; Tim and Karen Guest and sons Nick and Jake; Debi Bray and partner Bill Cates and Debi's children Marissa and Clint; Michael Guest and partner John Kasper.A memorial service will be held on December 15th, 2007 at the United Methodist Church 2550 Linden Street, Atwater, CA 95301 at 11AM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made in “ Memory of Lt. Col. Roger C. Riggle” to The Castle Air Museum 5050 Santa Fe Drive, Atwater, CA. 95301 or the United Methodist Church in Atwater.
