Besuch des Gymnasiums in Einbeck. 1689 an der Universität Jena immatrikuliert, Theologiestudium. Danach Hauslehrer in Erfurt, folgte August Hermann Francke und Joachim Justus Breithaupt nach Halle. Am 14.5.1692 an der Universität Halle immatrikuliert. 1695 Adjunkt an der St. Georgenkirche in Glaucha/Halle, ab 1715 2. Pfarrer an der St. Ulrichkirche in Halle. 1723 Subdirektor, 1727 zusammen mit Gotthilf August Francke Direktor des Waisenhauses in Halle. Er gab Kirchengesangsbücher heraus und verfaßte selbst 44 geistliche Lieder.
