Notes for this person
Steve Sinn passed away of natural causes near Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France on October 2nd while on vacation with his wife, Jan. He was 76, born on March 1, 1941. Steve was the middle child of Dr. B.M and Ruth Sinn and a Colorado resident all his life. He was born in Fairplay, grew up in Limon, Colorado, married Jan Guilliams in 1962, and graduated from Colorado State University in 1965. He was blessed with three children and five grandchildren whom he loved dearly. All who knew Steve knew him as a naturally gifted artist who was always humble about his phenomenal skills and abilities. He retired from Hewlett Packard in 2000 and enjoyed every minute of his productive retirement. He was a selfless advocate for his loved ones and was giving of his time. When anyone was in a bind or needed help he would be there to drive a uhaul and/or just be reassuring. Steve had a lifelong special relationship with his dogs. His mother-in-law once said she would like to be reincarnated as one of his dogs. Another love of his was peanut butter with maple syrup. He was "handy" with carpentry and cars and could build and fix anything with meticulous effort.
Steve had a deep and abiding faith and was unapologetic patriot who loved his country and believed in the inherent goodness of the people of the United States of America. He was an active member of Kiwanis, a past member of the Manitou Springs Volunteer Fire Department and an usher for First Methodist Church. He also hand carved and donated prayer crosses for those in grief.
He was a deeply devoted family man who was much loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Rob, and is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jan; son, Brad (Kristi) and their children, Stephen, Zachary, and Katie; son, Brett; daughter, Andrea Wunibald (Ryan) and their children, Kaden and Bethany; sister, Cheryl Clanin (Jack).
