Ältere Autoren nennen seinen Vater Haro Aldersna; laut van Lengen war er der Sohn Wiard Abdenas von Emden, wiewohl durch seine Frau Haros Erbe von Faldern.
Er erbte Klein-Faldern und Wolthusen.
