Er wurde aus niedrigem Stand von Graf Enno zum Drosten befördert, gab aber Burg Greetsiel 1534 kampflos auf.
Vor der Jemgumer Kirchentür lag früher ein Grabstein mit der Aufschrift: "ANNO 1534 DE 12 MARTII STARF IN DE HERE ALBART VAN JEMGUM DROST VA GRETSYHL". Auf diesem Stein sollen zwei Wappen zu sehen sein.
