  1. Came to Ray county, MO in 1828 where he owned 165

acres of land.

  1. Went to California in 1849 and settled in Sonoma county.

  2. Had 8 children with two died young.

  3. The Hugeons Cemetery is also called the Brockman Cemetery

and it is located in a field on the Vandiver brothers farm about 1

mile north of Camden, MO.

  1. Asa Brockman enlisted in the Union Army in the Civil War;

Company E, 51st enrolled Missouri Militia; he was captured at the

Battle of Glasgow but was paroled after a short time and he returned

home to farm. He farmed in township 51, range 28 on land once

owned by his father.

  1. Israel E. Brockman went to California about 1846 and it is

believed that he was a member of the Fremont Expedition. He was

the sheriff of Sonoma county, CA from 1850-1854. After 1864 he

went to Mazatlan, Mexico but returned to California in 1869-1870

settling at Julian in San Diego county.

  1. Sarah and Mary Ann Hudgins were sisters.

  2. Sarah (Brockman) Hendley died on the move from MO to CA

and she was buried along the trail. Her husband, John Hendley,

remarried in CA and had at least 8 children by his second wife.

  1. Clifton Brockman was a grocier in Camden, MO in 1900 and 1910.

His daughter, Lonora (Brockman) Barber was listed in the 1900

census as living with her parents. Clifton's son, William Turner

was living in St. Louis, MO in 1918.

  1. Harmon F. Brockman was divorced by 1880.

  2. Joseph Embree Brockman was an elected member of the Sonoma,

CA city council; he was also a member of the Whig party and was

a follower of Henry Clay.
