Frederick Henry Brockman, and old and highly respected citizen of this community, died at his home four miles east of town, Saturday, January 27, 1912. Funeral services were conducted at the home Monday, Jan. 29, 1912 by Rev. F. G. Walther, pastor of the Lutheran church here, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Lower cemetery here.

Frederick Henry Brockman was born in Doerpel, Hanover, Germany, February 19, 1840, and at the time of his death was, 72 years, 11 months, 8 days old.

He was married in his native country in 1867 to Miss Sophie Schroeder, and came to this country in 1881, settling in this county, where he lived until the time of his death. Twelve children were born of their marriage, seven o whom, with the wife and mother, preceded him to the grave. The living children are: Henry and Deitrich; Mrs. Anna Rehling of near Indian Grove; Mrs. Fredericke Atterbury of Mendon, and Mrs. Minnie Boyce of Brunswick.

Mrs. Brockman's death occurred October 13, 1909.

Mr. Brockman was an upright and honorable citizen, and enjoyed the confidence and esteem of all his neighbors and friends. For many years he has been a member of the Lutheran church.
