PETER FRIESS-was a Cavalryman at Darmstadt, Hessen. There seems to be no way to prove exactly where he was from. The most likely candidate is a Peter Friess who lived at Meisenheim, perhaps fifty miles west of Darmstadt. He was married to Anna Barbara Hacken at Meisenheim, 7 Jul 1674. That would put him at about age fifty at the time Cavalryman Peter Friess had an affair with BARBARA GERMANN, the widow STROSSINGER. The result was an illegitimate son, JOHANN WENDEL STROSSINGER, born 12 Dec 1703.
