Moyle 1926 ~ 2006 Gilbert Dinwoodey Moyle, Jr. of Rapid City, South Dakota and Naples, Florida passed away March 30, 2006. He was born April 23, 1926 to Gilbert Dinwoodey Moyle, and Helen Rich Moyle in Ogden, Utah. Gil was raised as a young boy in Cottonwood and Pocatello, Idaho. Gil graduated from the University of Utah and affiliated with Sigma Nu Fraternity. After serving in the army during the Korean War, he married Tommie Louise Dern of Salt Lake City, Utah on November 21, 1953. They made their home in Rapid City, South Dakota where he started his business, Moyle Petroleum in 1955. Gil had an energetic commitment to his many business and community endeavors. He considered it a responsibility and an adventure to carry out his vision for his businesses and fortunate to accomplish it with his many friends and associates. Gil's love for Rapid City was reflected in his involvement with many charitable organizations. His courageous, enthusiastic and optimistic style influenced many. Gil was an avid fisherman and loved to pheasant hunt. This passion was only surpassed by the stories made possible by his family and friends who enjoyed hunting and fishing with him. He loved being on his boats, whether it was in Florida, South Dakota or at the lake in Couer d' Alene, Idaho. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Tommie Louise Moyle; two daughters Helen Johnson of Kennewick, WA; Lisa Shanor of Casper, WY; two sons Gilbert D. Moyle and Clark D. Moyle of Rapid City, SD; seven grandchildren and his sister, Miriam Madson of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Claire Jones. A family graveside service is planned at the Salt Lake City Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on April 6, 2006 under the direction of Larkin Mortuary.
