Born at Garden Lots, she was a daughter of the late Celestine and Fannie (Foote) Hannams. In her earlier years, Alma worked at National Sea Products, Lunenburg Division and over the years she was a member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blue Rocks, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23, Lunenburg. She is survived by sons, Scott (Becky) ,Lunenburg; Lloyd (Susan), Garden Lots; Larry, (Brenda), Lunenburg; Carter (Dale), Bridgewater; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Laura Risser, Lunenburg; Mary Hickey, Halifax; Janet (Aubrey) Burns, Bridgewater; Elizabeth (Elton) Eisenhauer, Bridgewater; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Sterling; sisters, Rhoda and Violet; brothers, Gerald and Wilfred. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. A graveside and committal service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery, Blue Rocks, Rev. Douglas Chard officiating.
