He was born December 3, 1961 in Ottumwa to Jack Arthur and Gesina "Cindy" J. Acord Wagner. He married JoAnn Byrum Rea on August 4, 2001. Jack attended Ottumwa High School and received training as an auto mechanic from Indian Hills Community College. Jack had worked at Sea World in Florida in pyrotechnics, had worked 13 years at Ray-Man in Keota and was currently working for Vermeer as a welder. He loved and had a great knowledge of music, and enjoyed playing the guitar. Jack was soft spoken and kind. He was very quick and witty. Jack loved animals including his four-legged babies at home. In high school he was known as the cool guy with a fringe jacket and long hair. Surviving is his wife and the love of his life, JoAnn; children, J.D. Wagner (Andrea) of Lamar, AR, Nicholas Rea (Angela Galecki) of St. Petersburg, FL and Wendi Rea (Paul) of Baltimore, MD; 3 grandchildren; his father, Jack (Janice) Wagner of Ottumwa; siblings, Brenda R. Poole, Jerry Wagner, Gary McNamer, Bill Wagner, Tracy McNamer, Kim Wagner, Jason Wagner and Shawn McNamer; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cindy McNamer; grandparents, Walter and Isabelle Long, Babe and Helen Wagner. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Second Chance Dog Rescue of Iowa.
