Klem age 76 of Jasper passed away at 4:30 A.M. Tuesday November 11, 2008 at the Providence Home in Jasper. He was born December 11, 1931 at Jasper to: Leo and Katherine (Sander) Klem he married Clara Mae Leuken October 11, 1958. She passed away December 28, 1985. He then married Maxine Jones in 1996. She passed away March 17, 2004. He was a Korean War Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 147. He worked for Kimball / Jasper Laminates-retired Surviving: 1 daughter-Julia Doherty of Jasper. 2 sons- Paul A. Klem of Jasper and Michael J. Klem of Evansville. 5 Grandchildren 3 step daughters-Myrna Kunkel of Jasper, Gina Toy of Loogootee, and Grace Oxley of Birdseye. 2 step sons-Danny Jones, and Eric Jones both of Loogootee. 17 step grandchildren 16 step Great Grandchildren Preceded in death besides his wives is 2 sisters-Sally Zogelman, and Delphine Klem, 1 brother-Robert Lee Klem. Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday November 14, 2008 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. American Legion Post 147 will conduct the military grave side rites.
