Aus Find A Grave: Birth: May 4, 1911 Chariton County Missouri, USADeath: Aug. 16, 1977 St. Louis City Missouri, USA WM. FREDERICK SASSE William Frederick Sasse died Tuesday evening, August 16 at the Compton Hill Convalescent Center in St. Louis where he had been a resident only one week, following two and one-half months stay in Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. He was born in Dalton on May 4, 1911, son of Henry C. and Alida Noll Sasse and had spent his entire life in the Dalton community where he was engaged in farming until his health forced his retirement. Mr. Sasse was a member of the Dalton Immanuel Methodist Church and the Order of the Moose. In 1932 he was married to Miss Ione Grotjan, who preceded him in death in November, 1952. Surviving are four brothers and four sisters, Romeo Sasse and Chris Sasse, both of Dalton, Roy Sasse of Kansas City, Henry Charles Sasse of Moran, Wyoming, Mrs. Ted (Emma) Kuhlman of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mrs. Joe E. (Helene) Zimmerman of St. Louis, Mrs. Ray (Adelene) Battin of Kansas City and Mrs. George (Kathryn) Province of Independence and a number of nieces and nephews. Berry Funeral Home, Keytesville was in charge of funeral arrangements with the service held at the Dalton Immanuel Church Friday afternoon, August 19. The Rev. Clarence Morrill was in charge, Music was by Mrs. Don L. Grotjan, organist and a quartet of Mrs. George William Meyer, Mrs. Grotjan, Jerome Bucksath and Romie Meyer, accompanied by Rev. Morrill. Pallbearers were Jerome Bucksath, Billy B. Brandt, Robert H. Littleton, Woodrow Oestrich, Tom Foster and Charles Bucksath. Burial was in the Dalton City Cemetery.
