Ness York - Donald C. Ness, "Nessy" of York, entered into Eternal Peace on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at his home at the age of 55. He was born in York on August 13, 1963 and is the son of Bruce A. Ness and the late Constance A. (Trone) Ness. He graduated from Dallastown High School, Class of 1981, where he was active in football and wrestling. After graduation, he went on to Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport to study Forestry. He was employed at Bartlett Tree Service, York Water Company, Met-Ed, and the York Fairgrounds. Nessy was active with the York Barbell traveling softball team, York Twp. baseball, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid Penn State, Seattle Seahawks, and New York Yankees Fan. He loved all dogs, and especially loved black labs. Besides his father, Bruce, he leaves four siblings, Diane Ness Shaw (Michael) of Kutztown, Gregory E. Ness (Peggy) of Chalfont, PA, Deborah N. Bull (Gregory) of Red Lion, and Marie Shapiro (Terry) of Evergreen, CO, along with aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Ness, a nephew, Michael Ness, and his beloved dogs, Abby and Jake. Family and friends may extend their condolences on Friday, August. 31st , from 9-10 am at Spry Church, 50 School Street, York. A Memorial Service to Honor and Praise Donald's life will begin at 10 am at the church with Pastor Ken Loyer officiating. Burial will be private, in Mt. Rose Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Burg Funeral Home, Inc., is assisting the family with the arrangements.
