William Henry ALBACH

Rev. William Albach Visitation for the Rev. William H. Albach, 89, will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Albach, who died Tuesday, was born in Chicago. He attended Lutheran Kinderheim in Addison, Ill., and graduated from Concordia College in Milwaukee in 1934. Rev. Albach taught at schools in Merrill, Wis., and Loebau, Texas. He also served in missions in Parma, Mo.; Harriman and Camp Austin, Tenn.; and Schattel, LaPryor and Del Rio, Texas. In 1941 he married Betty Crawford and accepted his first call to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Havillah, Wash. He later served at parishes in Shelton, Wash.; Bend, Ore.; Odebolt, Iowa; and Spokane. He served in the ministry for 65 years in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. He also served several years as counselor for the Spokane Circuit and helped form the Lutheran Council of Greater Spokane. After his retirement he received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree in English from Eastern Washington University. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Faith Roedel of Coeur d'Alene, Claudia Tracy of Naples, Fla., and Marcia Zeebuyth of North Bend, Ore.; two foster daughters, My and Kim Schmitt, both of Spokane; seven grandchildren, five foster grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
