He was born on the Atlantic ocean on the 8th of August, 1839, while his parents, Andrew and Janet Noll, were en route from Germany to the United States. Although left an orphan at an early age by the death of his parents, and with apparently poor prospects in life, he has come to be one of the wealthy men and leading farmers of the community in which he lives. His parents both died of the cholera in St. Louis in 1849. Christopher then came up to Brunswick with his uncle, Philip Noll, and in a short time afterwards commenced to work for Mr. Bucksath, and continued with him and Mr. Louis Grotjan until about 1861. Mr. Noll was then married, May 3, 1861 to Miss Alice Stakley. During the war he followed farming on rented land, and for some time served in the militia. He then bought a part, 149 acres, of the place where he now lives, and now has 800 acres of fine land with 560 acres in cultivation. He grows annually about 300 acres of wheat, corn and other products, and raises considerable stock. Mr. Noll is now living with his fifth wife, formerly Miss Tillie Rolf, to whom he was married June 17, 1883. He has a family of six children: Mary, Lydia, Tillie, Ida, Henry and Annie. Mr. Noll is a member of the township board and a trustee.
