Mr. Silver was born at Watford, 63 years ago, May 27, 1915, to the late Howard and Nina (Durland) Silver. Mr. Silver was a life-long resident of the community of Watford. Mr. Silver worked at farming the family farm for many years, with his late father and his youngest brother, Lorraine, who resides at the same home. He was for many years interested in horses and kept a pair to work on the farm, and also to participate at Exhibitions and fairs. Apart from the home farm, Mr. Silver worked in his younger years, seasonly in the Valley area for other farmers, and also was employed as a School Bus driver for over ten years with the Lunenburg Municipal School Board and drove from the New Germany schools. Due to health reasons Mr. Silver had been retired for nearly three years. Mr. Silver is survived by three brothers, Bert, Dayspring; Lawrence, Union Square and Lorraine, Watford, also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Silver was predeceased by two brothers, LeRoy and Martin. The funeral service for the late Mr. Silver was held at Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany on Wednesday, May 16 when relatives and friends gathered to pay their final tribute. Service was conducted by his pastor, Rev. Randy Crozman of New Germany Epworth United Church of which the late Mr. Silver was a member. Pallbearers for the late Mr. Silver were four cousins, namely, Aubrey, Basil, Earl and Edgar Silver, Gilbert Penny, who is married to the late Mr. Silver's cousin, and a close neighbor, Dolan Wentzell. Interment was beside his parents, at the Barss Corner Community cemetery.
