Mrs Rau was a [daughter of the] late William Nonne[n]man and Elizabeth Nonne[n]man and was born in Buffalo, NY. She came to this city when a child and on Nov 28, 1895, was united in marriage with Mr Rau, who survives her, besides the mother, two sisters, Mrs Edward Leasgang of Pleasantville and Mrs George Smith of this city, and one brother, William Nonne[n]man, whose whereabouts are not known. Mrs Rau was a consistent Christian and a regular attendant at St Paul's Reformed church until illness prevented. She was a patient sufferer and loved by all who knew her. Arrangements for the funeral will be made later."
