Bud was born in Kirksville, Mo., Dec. 12, 1928, to Albert and Lydia England. He moved withhis family to Springfield, Mo. There he met and married Ethel Marie Burch, moving to Independence to raise their family. Throughout his 84 years, he had many accomplishments. He was a wonderful Son and Brother. A Veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving in the Army infantry as a Medic, achieving rank of SFC, awarded a Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal with Bronze Star and Medical Badge. He wasa loving and giving Husband and Father, working as a Line Foreman at the Certain Teed Corporation until his retirement. But everyone who knew him could tell you that the one title that gave him the most enjoyment was Grandpa. He is survived by his children, Steven England, his son, daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Gerald Monaco; grandchildren, Danielle, Joseph, Jeremy and Christina; sister, Betty Dillard and her husband, Jim; brother, Larry England and his wife, Nancy; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel; parents, Albert and Lydia, and two sisters, Donna Leishing and Linda England, all of Springfield, Mo. He leaves behind a legacy which simply by knowing him makes each one of us a better person. He was loved and respected by all, especiallyhis family. Funeral services will be at noon Friday, Oct. 18, at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, with visitation at 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial at Mount Washington Cemetery, Independence.
