Allen Dettmering passed away on January 16, 2013 at the age of 93.
He was born in Matteson, Illinois. He was the former owner of Dettmering's Tavern and Restaurant, an historic
landmark. He operated the business for 21 years and then moved to Florida in 1991 to be near his two daughters.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Gladys; his daughter, Carol Bourke (Jim) of Cocoa; son, Philip Dettmering of Joliet, IL; and daughter,Diane Denault of Clewiston, FL; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2 PM Saturday, January 26, with a reception following at Faith Lutheran Church, Merritt Island, FL.
