Floyd Max Louis Fahr was born on

December 24, 1911, in Alta to John Fahr

and Anna Otto. He was baptized January

14, 1912, and confirmed April 5, 1925,

both at St. John Lutheran Church in

Hanover. He attended St. John Lutheran

School in rural Alta through the eighth

grade. On August 30, 1946 he married

Martha Hinkeldey at the First English

Lutheran Church in Spencer.

Floyd was a farm hand from 1915 to

1936 for many farmers in the Alta and

surrounding area. In 1937 he became a

farm hand for William Hinkeldey until his

marriage in 1946 to Martha. Then he

farmed until 1976 in the Hanover community.

He sold Crows Seed Corn for 13

years. He retired into Alta in 1976. During

his retirement he enjoyed fishing, golfing,

traveling and being with his family.

He was a member of St. John

Lutheran Church and also held various

offices at the church, and was a member

of the Alta Golf and Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents,

three brothers and one sister.
