Diane Marie Stoddard Blanchard, 61, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013.
Survivors include her former husband and his wife, Robert E. and Rebecca Michel Blanchard; daughters and sons-in-law, S. Michele Blanchard andJake Airey, Jennifer Lynn Blanchard and Mike Kegal, and Christina Blanchard and Brian Lowrance; Debra and Gary Rasmussen; partner in life, William “Bill” Slater, and his children, Kerry and Hugh Doig, Kelly Slater and Kory Slater; grandchildren, Kaylynn, Ashton, Belle, Jackson, Amber, Dylan, Casey, Brenden, Eli, Isaiah, Deana and Jasimine, and numerousfriends. She was predeceased by her mother, Bernice Marie Rose Tobeck;husband, James Edward Roehl, and sister, Denise Jean Stoddard.
She overcame serious injuries to her legs as a 10-year-old hit by a car, and family and friends remember her for strength, kindness, lack of complaining and the will to live. She was a University of Minnesota graduate who split her time during the year living in Burnsville, Minnesota, and Slidell.
The family gives a special thanks to Faith Airey, nurse Marti, the other healthcare providers at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Minnesota and Bill, Kory and Kerry for taking such good care of her during her illness.
