Notes for this person
Friedrich "Fritz" True was born in Magelsen, Germany.
He was married to Anna Margaretha Adelheid Meier on December 26th, 1883in Cissna Park, IL. The ceremony was performed by Pastor F. H. Stahling. The marriage was the first recorded at the new Immanuel Lutheran Church, which was just across the road from the True home. The attendantsat the wedding were Fritz Luecke, Dorothea Koester, August Luecke and Charlotte Luecke.
His occupation is listed as laborer. I know he farmed alongside his brothers as well.
Siblings are Ehler, William, Dorthea, John and Christian.
He died of Tuberculosis.
In the 1900 federal census, it was learned that Anna's mother, Mary Meier, who was a widow, was living with Anna and Fritz.
Some "feelings were hurt" and Fritz and Anna did not associate with theTrue relatives.
They were members of the Evangelical Reformed Lutheran Church in Herkimer.
Anna inherited a sizeable amount from her parents estate, so she and Fritz enjoyed a comfortable life. In 1910, they bought a high-wheeled, solid tire automobile from Sears, Roebuck and Company, but unfortunately,Fritz was sick much of the time, so wasn't able to enjoy having the car.
He had been ill for a long time with TB before his death at their home.He was 52 years old. Rev. Suipianck conducted the funeral service.
Anna, who was lying at the point of death at the time of Fritz's demise, improved. Two trained nurses, Ms. Kapprell and Marvin, had arrived aweek earlier from St. Joseph, MO to care for her. She was a widow for 30 years. She died at the age of 85 after several months of illness.
The information I have states that Friedrich was buried in Herkimer Cemetery, Herkimer, KS. I suspect that he is buried in Zion Cemetery in Herkimer, as that is where several other family members were buried.
