Ruth was born June 28, 1925 in Ash Grove Township, the daughter of Henry and Emilie Hoppe Seggebruch. She married Elvin Cluver on April 6, 1947 and he preceded her in death on August 30, 2003. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Marilyn Rochford; one grandchild, Stacy Cluver; three brothers; and six sisters.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws, Jerry (Edna) Cluver and Tom (Donita) Cluver, all of Cissna Park; one son-in-law, Tom (Sharon) Rochford of Traverse City, MI; one brother, Melvin (Marlene) Seggebruch of Onarga; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Mrs. Cluver was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at AshGrove where she was an active member of St. John’s Ladies Aid-LWML. Ruth and her husband, Elvin, farmed for many years in rural Cissna Park and later retired in-town in Cissna Park. She enjoyed making quilts, sewing, gardening, playing euchre and pepper, and was an avid Cubs fan.
