Dietrich George MEYER

Diedrich G. (Dick) Meyer, 71, died quietly, without any apparent warning while seated in a chair at Witt Skelly station here, Friday evening,about nine o'clock. He was thought to be in comparatively good health and had worked until shortly before his death.

The deceased had been visiting with the station proprieter, Lester Witt, who noticing that he had ceased visiting, assumed he had fallen asleep, only to find that he had lapsed into unconsciousness.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 12, at the Gaudian Funeral Homewith the Rev. Paul Sohn, pastor of Zion Lutheran church, officiating.Interment was in Prairie View Cemetery.

Diedrich G. Meyer, a son of Carl Meyer and Anna Ehlers, was born Dec 28, 1888 on a farm near Paullina. He attended school at St. John's Lutheran School, Germantown. After graduation, he spent most of his time contracting various types of work, tiling, carpentering, and masonry. Dickspent the last 42 years of his life working in this community. He diedat the age of 71 years, 11 months, and 11 days. He is survived by fivebrothers and four sisters.
