George Ohlmann, son of Fredrich and Elisa Ohlmann, was born November 10, 1877, in Hanover, Germany.
He came to America with his parents in August, 1884, and settled in Seward county, near Staplehurst. The family moved to Buffalo county near Luce, Nebr., in 1890.
He was married to Emilie Daehling on Jan. 17, 1900. This union was blessed with seven children, five boys and two girls, all of whom are living.
In the spring of 1909 they moved to an area known as the German settlement, 12 miles southwest of Crookston, in Cherry county. He spent most of his life in this community with the exception of a few years in Seward county.
In 1948 he retired and made his home with his older daughter Agnes of Norfolk, Nebr. Later he moved to Casper, Wyoming and made his home withhis younger daughter, Elizabeth. He died on July 26, 1958, in Casper atthe age of 80 years, 8 months and 16 days.
His wife passed away in February of 1940. Survivors include Walter andWilliam of Crookston; Nebr.; Herbert of David City, Nebr.; Lorenz of Valentine; Karl of Sunnyvale, Calif,; Agnes (Mrs. Melvin Warnecke) of Norfolk, Nebr.; Elizabeth (Mrs. Leo Richards) of Casper, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 31, 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Seward, by the Rev. A. G. Johnson of Casper, Wyoming. Burial was held at Seward. Pallbearers were August, John, and PaulOhlmann, Erich Ahrens, Henry and Fred Daehling.
