Eileen M. MEYER

Eileen M. "Shine" Bockrath, 80, died at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 17, 2010, at The Meadows of Ottawa-Glandorf. She was born Oct. 21, 1929, in Union Township to Alphons and Ludmilla Heitmeyer Meyer, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 16, 1950, she married Linus Bockrath, who survives in Glandorf. Mrs. Bockrath was a homemaker and had retired from Philips Display Components, Ottawa, after 23 years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf, and its Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She loved her children and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, polka dancing and traveling with her husband, especially their two trips overseas and the time spent at their retirement home in Florida. Survivors also include four children, Janet (Jerry) Limpach, of Tipp City, Daniel (Mary Jo) Bockrath, of Glandorf, Ann Bockrath, of Ottawa, and Becky (Kevin) Lauer, of Galena; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Erma (Roy) Scheckelhoff and Evelyn (Richard) Miley, both of Ottawa; and a sister-in-law, Betty Meyer, of Pandora. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alphons Jr. (Evelyn) and Denis Meyer. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf. Father Tony Fortman will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
