Shirley Ann COOPER

Shirley A. Sonnenberg, 79, of Collinsville, Ill., born June 30, 1935, in Litchfield, Ill., passed away at 8:10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at Liberty Village Care Center in Maryville, Ill. Shirley was a loving wife and beautiful mother of five children and enjoyed being a homemaker, and was a dear friend of many. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville, Ill. She was also a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the YMCA in Edwardsville, Ill. She was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan and overall sports fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sonnnenberg; parents, Cecil Cooper and Fern, nee Doolin, Cooper; a son, Michael Sonnenberg; and two sisters, Betty Putty and LaVerne Murphy.Surviving are a son, Don (Lynn) Sonnenberg of Collinsville, Ill.; three daughters, Vickie O'Neill of Maryville, Ill., Pat (Tony) Frey of Glen Carbon, Ill., and Debbie Mitchell of Virginia Beach, Va.; and five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and will be accepted at the funeral home.
