Er wird 1567 als Vollhöfner zu Westerholz mit einer Abgabe von einem Gulden und 7 Schillingen genannt. 1587/88 ist er im Geld-und Korn- register zu Westerholz genannt. Vor ihm saß Thomas von der Heyde auf der Stelle, 1548/1553 genannt, der vermutlich sein Schwiegervater war, wenn der Name "von der Heyde" auch für das Kirchspiel Scheeßel einmalig ist, und sonst nicht hier vorkommt, eher im Bereich Walsrode / Visselhövede.
