Jost Frohne zu Asemissen hatte gegen Freitag zu Greste Ansprüche auf die Niedere Greste bei Oerlinghausen. Als sich das Amt Barkhausen zu Gunsten Jost Frohnes entschied, sagte Heinrich Freitag dem Frohne die "Fehde" an, in deren Verlauf er brandschatzte, Pferde raubte und anderes mehr. Erst sein Tod machte dem jahrelangen Kampf ein Ende.
