pub in the Inman, KS, Review on Friday Dec 1, 1911 - MRS ELIZABETH TUXHORN - After 2wks of real sickness, Grandma Tuxhorn passed away last Sunday. She had been in poor health and some suffering for a good many years. One year ago Saturday, she celebrated her 77th birthday but her 78th birthday found her very sick. Mrs Elizabeth Birkenbuel was born in Eidorf, Germany on Nov 25, 1833 and late in the 1850s was married to August Tuxhorn at Peru, IL. They moved to Kansas in 1876 and settled in Groveland Twp where she lived until abt 10yrs ago when she took up her residence in the trim little cottage in Inman. There were 5 girls and 6 boys in the family. The following survive : Mrs. W.F. Wiegand and Leo Tuxhorn of Inman, Wm Tuxhorn of Arapaho, CO, Julius Tuxhorn of Sophia, OK, and Edward Tuxhorn of Helena, OK; a large number of grandchildren and a few greats. Also 2 sisters, Mary Praeger of Peru, IL and Loise Kuss of Peoria, IL. The funeral was held in the Evangelical church on Tuesday and was conducted by Rev. Krohne of Nickerson. The weather was bad but may of her friends and acquaintances were there at the last respects.

WILL of ELIZABETH TUXHORN, Inman, KS - I Elizabeth Tuxhorn, a widow of the city of Inman do make and publish my last Will & Testament. 1. To my granddaughter, Mildred Lehrling, only child of my deceased daughter, Matilda, late wife of Emil Lehrling the sum of $75 2. To my sons, William and Herman the sum of $200 each 3. To Bertha, Matilda, Madiw, and Blaine 4 ch of my son Charles, each the sum of $50 - Said son, Charles or any of his other children shall receive nothing from my estate. 4. To Effie, Arnie and Elmer Postier ch of my deceased dau Bertha Late wife of Carl Postier of McPherson Co, KS, each the sum of $100 5. To the Trustees of the M. E. Church of Inman, KS the sum of $25 6. to the Evangelical St Petri Church of Inman, the sum of $160 of which $10 shall be paid to the Pastor and $100 used for home missions. 7. To dau, Minnie wife of Wm F. Wiegand of McPherson, the sum of $1,000 8.to son, Leo L. Tuxhorn of McPherson Co, the sum of $800. 9. All rest and residue, to my children Julius Tuxhorn, Edward Tuxhorn and the lawful heirs of my daughter, Elvina, the late wife of Frank Luty. 10. Son Leo to be executor. 11. Any legatee or devisee that contests this will shall thereby forfeit any benefit and receive nothing. Signed Feb 1, 1911 Probated Jan 1912
