Odenbach ist die nördlichste Glantalgemeinde des Landkreises Kusel und wurde im Jahr 841 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Etwa um das Jahr 1200 gab es bereits eine Talburg, von der heute noch ein Stück des Bergfriedes steht. Kurz nach der Erhebung zur Stadt im Jahr 1349 wurde der Ort mit einer Mauer umgeben, auch davon stehen heute noch Teile.
