Er war der Sohn des Grafen Landry von Nevers und der Mathilde von Burgund , einer Tochter des Pfalzgrafen Otto Wilhelm von Burgund, er wurde in einem Kampf gegen Herzog Robert I. von Burgund getötet und in der Abtei Saint-Germain in Auxerre bestattet.
