Published in Reading Eagle from January 19 to January 25, 2013: William Clarence "Pete" Heckman, 80, of Temple, died Jan. 16, 2013, in St. Joseph Medical Center. He was married July 21, 1973, to Jeanette May (Hueston) Heckman, who died Sept. 23, 2011. Born in the Reading Hospital on March 17, 1932, he was a son of the late Clarence Albert Heckman and Dorothy (Wentzel) Heckman. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Pete was employed as a truck driver with Deka Battery for 10 years. and later in the same capacity with Rubright Construction for over 10 years. He was last employed as a crossing guard for the Muhlenberg School District, last working Nov. 18, 2012. Pete volunteered for over 20 years with Berks County Meals-On-Wheels. He is survived by two children, five siblings, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildre
