He was married July 21, 1973, to Jeanette May (Hueston) Heckman, who died Sept. 23, 2011. Born in the Reading Hospital on March 17, 1932, he was a son of the late Clarence Albert Heckman and Dorothy (Wentzel) Heckman. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Pete was employed as a truck driver with Deka Battery for 10 years. and later in the same capacity with Rubright Construction for over 10 years. He was last employed as a crossing guard for the Muhlenberg School District, last working Nov. 18, 2012. Pete volunteered for over 20 years with Berks County Meals-On-Wheels. He is survived by two children, five siblings, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildre
