Roger E. Roser, 80, of Glen Rock, died Sunday November 17, 2013 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Evelyn J. (Newcomer) Roser, with whom he celebrated a 58th Wedding Anniversary on April 3rd. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday November 22, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church, 47 Hanover Street, Glen Rock with his pastor the Rev. Ed Robbins, officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday at the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Roser was born on December 24, 1932 in Codorus Township, a son of the late Claude and Nelda M. (Dise) Roser. He graduated in 1951 from Codorus Township High School and from York College in 1981. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Roger retired in 1995 as a Plant Manager from AMP, Inc. where he was employed for 30 years and prior to that he had been an electrician with Guy Brodbeck Electric for 10 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Glen Rock, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, on the Church Council, Property Committee, Cemetery Committee and sang on the Church Choir for many years. He was a member of the Codorus Valley Historical Society, the Glen Rock Historical Society and the Jefferson AARP Chapter #3699. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Dennis C. Roser of Havre de Grace, MD and a brother, Kenneth L. Roser of York.
