Olive Clara Van Galder, 92, of Rocky Ford passed away on December 27, 2017 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center in La Junta. She was born on September 28, 1925 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Howard O. & Minnie H. (Nultimier) Cessna. She married Richard Roser, Sr. he preceded her in death in 1952. She later married Orval Allen who preceded her in death in 1995. She then married Clarence Van Galder and he preceded her in death in 2012. Olive did a lot of farm work, milked cows, delivered calves, rounded up pigs. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was a mother to six children. She is survived by her sons, Steven Roser of Phoenix, AZ; Howard (Jo) Roser of Waddell, AZ; daughters, Betty Clanton of La Junta; Brenda (Allen) Hood of Penrose, CO; Sally Tafoya of La Junta; sister, Neomi Lussier of South Dakota; grandchildren, Rob Roser, Vicki Brittain, Karen Roser, Audie Roser, Crystal Clanton, Kelly Clanton, Steven Hood, Jennifer Hood, Sandra Hood, Autumn Tafoya, Audrey Tafoya, Destini Tafoya; sisters-in-law, Ila Hayes and Jean Scofield; numerous great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three husband, son, Richard Roser, Jr.; her seven siblings including her twin brother, Oliver Cessna. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Gordon Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to the Arkansas Valley Hospice, PO Box 408, La Junta, CO, 81050 direct or through the funeral home.
