Jack Merriman DIECK

Jack M. Dieck, 91, of Indianapolis, passed away December 14, 2020. He was born September 8, 1929 to the late Kenneth and Mildred Dieck. Jack was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School. He married Mary K. Roser, June 22, 1949, and she preceded him in death August 10, 2019 after 70 years of marriage. Jack was a Pressroom Foreman for the Indianapolis Star & News for 45 years, retiring in 1992. Jack was a former member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church and an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, Irvington. He enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, spending time with family and spoiling his grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 345 N. Kitley Ave. Jack is survived by his children, Steven Dieck (Hatsumi Miura), Kathryn Westphal (Bruce), Pamela Hicks (Charlie), Joyce Collins (Steve) and Patricia Jones (Shannon); 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Andrew Dieck; and sister, Judith Miller. Burial in Washington Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
