Ardith Delene Smith, 78, of 1770 McKibben St., Wabash, IN, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998 at Wabash County Hospital. She was born in Wabash County, IN to Philip H. and Emma (Stouffer) Roser. Shemarried Ansel E. Smith on August 28, 1940 in Wabash; he died March 12, 1994. She was a member of the Wabash Christ United Methodist Church. She had worked for several years at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Wabash, IN. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Terry (Dixie Ann) Staggs of Fairfax, VA, and Mrs. R. Dean (Sandra Kay) Speicher of LaFontaine, IN; two grandsons - Brian David Keaffaber of Huntington, IN and Dustin Aaron Staggs of Fairfax, VA; four brothers - Verne, Donald and Robert Roser of Wabash and Philip (Dan) Roser, Jr. of North Manchester; and eleven sisters - Martha Shaffer of Urbana; Katherine Clupper, Betty McKillip, Helen Hoppes, Shirley Atkinson, Marcella Houlihan and Mary Reed of Wabash; Lois Fleshood of Sharonville, OH; Phoebe Ridenour of North Manchester; Peggy Riggs of Greentown, IN; Mary Reed of Roann; and Carolyn Everest of Marion. A brother James Roser preceded her in death. Friends may call today (Tuesday, Dec. 22) from 2 - 8 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Main Street Chapel in Wabash, IN. Funeral service will be held at the Main St. Chapel Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Don Crabill and Rev. Don Wilks officiating. Burial will take place in Grant Memorial Park of Marion, IN.
